KIDS Early Learning Centers

We ask each child to bring a blanket to be kept in your child’s cubby for nap time. Be sure to label the blanket and take it home EVERY FRIDAY to wash.
Each child will be issued one cot to nap at the beginning of the school year; if the cot becomes damaged, beyond normal wear and tear, replacement of the cot will become the parent/Guardian’s financial responsibility.
In order, not to confuse school toys with a child’s personal property, we ask that children not bring playthings from home.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy staff cannot be responsible for lost or broken personal toys. Two exceptions to this are a stuffed animal for use during nap time by full-day preschool children and for Show & Tell purposes. You will be notified by your child’s teacher if the class will have Show & Tell.
Parents coming through Childcare Associates (CCMS) must swipe their cards daily to check
in/out your child to avoid personally charged for those days missed as CCMS will not pay the center. KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy staff is not Authorized to hold or swipe parents CCMS
Cards to check in/out for any reason. Parents Need to contact CCMS for any Issues with their card or checking in/out.
● Communicate any concerns regarding our program or your child immediately to staff.
● Respect and appreciate your child’s teacher and other staff members at the center as
they all strive for one common goal in mind which is to teach children to grow and
learn Kindness, Independence, Diversity and Self-Regulation. Throughout the day.
● Read and follow the Notices on the parent Daily White board for important
● Pick up and read the notices and information left for you in your child’s folder and/or
posted outside your child’s classroom, at the reception desk, or in e-mail.
● Pick up your child’s papers/projects daily. Their work is very important to them and
provides another means of communication between parent and child and helps the
parent share in the child’s day.
● Please be aware of the scheduled mealtimes of breakfast and lunch, 7:00am,
10:45am, 11:20am, 11:35am, and 12:00pm make sure your child arrives in time to be
included in those meals, if necessary. It is very difficult to try and feed a child later than the scheduled mealtime, and causes a disruption in the classroom schedule,
which affects all the children in the classroom.
o We encourage you to allow your child to eat what we are serving that day,
unless, of course, food allergies are a concern. In that case, we ask that you
bring a note from your Physician
● Periodically check on your child’s supply of extra clothing. Please take-home soiled
● Parents when picking up your child please make sure to be at the center 10 minutes
before 6:30pm and understand that the teachers need to clean their classrooms/ center
before they leave as they have been caring for your child all day and need to go spend
time with their families too.
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services does not allow smoking on the premises,
either indoors or outdoors.
Upon selecting KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy to meet your child’s educational needs, initial enrollment is contingent upon receipt of the completed enrollment application, including and signed Parent Handbook receipt, and registration fee. All enrollment paperwork is required 48 hours before the child can start our program. Incomplete paperwork will not be accepted.
Failure to keep children’s paperwork current and up to date may lead to dis enrollment.
Paperwork required for enrollment includes:

– Completed Discipline and Guidance form
– Tuition Agreement
– Food Program Enrollment Form
– CACFP Meal Benefit Income Eligibility Form
– Infant Feeding Preference (if applicable)
-Hearing & Vision Screening Copies to be provided:
1. Provide Immunization record for 4years & up.
2. School Children — signed statement that Immunization Records and hearing and vision screenings are current and on file at the school.
All registration fees and tuition for the current week must be paid before care begins.
Parents will be notified within 30 days of any policy change in writing. Signatures from parents
may be required.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy accepts childcare subsidies. Subsidized children must
have the CCMS approve care before they start. We follow our contractually obligation with
CCMS and require parents to pay their co-pay by the 1
st & 3rd week every month. Payments not
made by 3rd week will be reported to CCMS and suspension policies will go into effect until
payment is made.
We close to observe the following holidays:
● New Year’s Day
● Memorial Day
● Independence Day
● Labor Day
● Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday
● Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
● New Year’s Eve
Full tuition is due for holiday weeks, it will not be pro-rated for days we are closed. This is necessary due to staffing and operational costs that are incurred on the basis of
fixed levels of enrollment.
Please understand that tuition is based on enrollment NOT attendance.
NOTE: In some cases, if the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy will close the Friday before a holiday, if it falls on a Sunday the Monday after the
holiday we will close.
If your child is absent for the entire week, Tuition must be paid in full, KIDS Humpty
Dumpty Academy does not grant deductions for absences of any duration or for any cause and
without substitution of other days of attendance as ―make-up days. This is necessary due to
staffing and operational costs that are incurred on the basis of fixed levels of enrollment. If your child will be absent from school, we ask that you notify the front office by 8:30am each day. Failure to notify the front office of an absence may result in a $5 no call penalty per

enrolled at KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy for 6 months. This week may be taken any
time during the calendar year.
- During this week parents are due to pay 50% of tuition with a one week’s written

- Parents will not be able to withdraw and re-enroll children during the summer and
holiday months to avoid payment for those months.
Unfortunately, there are sometimes reasons we must expel or suspend a child form our program. KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy will do everything possible to work with families to
prevent this policy from being enforced. However, KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy has the right to unenroll or call Childcare associates (CCMS) Terminate care of a child for the following reasons: (2 suspensions and child will automatically be withdrawn from Kids Humpty Dumpty.)
Child’s Actions for Withdrawal/Suspension:
- The child is at risk of causing serious injury to other children or themselves.
- Physical or verbal abuse to staff or other children Excessive biting (see bite policy)
Parent’s Actions for Withdrawal/Suspension:
- Nonpayment or excessive late payment of fees.
- Failure to complete required forms including immunizations records.
- Failure to Abide by KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy’s Policies set forth in the Parent Handbook.
- Physical and/or verbal abuse of staff by parent.
- Parent threatens physical or intimidating actions towards staff members, parents
or other children.
Prior to Withdrawal/Dismissal, a parent will be called, and correspondence will be sent home indicating what the problem is. Every effort will be made by both the center and the parent to correct the problem. If behavior does not improve and/or KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy deems we can no longer accommodate the child at the risk, welfare, and safety of the other children, the parent will be asked to withdraw their child.
Because we are licensed only for our specific hours of operation, we cannot care for children earlier than 6:30 am or later than 6:00 pm. If you are late picking up your child a $25.00 late charge for the first five minutes per child will be charged to your account and $2.00 per minute after the first five minutes. The late penalties must be paid to the office before the child can return to care. Please let us know if you will be late, so we can reassure your child. Calling KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy to inform us that you will be unavoidably late does not waive your late fees.
Continued late pick-ups will mean breach of contract and you will forfeit your child’s position in the childcare.
If a child has not been picked up by 6:30 pm and all attempts to contact parents and
emergency contacts have failed, we are obligated by state regulations to call CPS and the
Parents please make sure to clock your child in and out daily to avoid a charge of $5 each
time the child has to be manually checked in will be placed on the account. State Regulations
requires that children are always checked in and out into the building each day. If you forget to
check your child in or out, please let the Director know immediately. Please work with us and
ensure that your child is clocked in/out for the day.
Please understand that due to liability issues, staff of KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy is
not permitted to take children home from our center.
In Order to maintain the appropriate staff to child ratios upon your Children are not to be
allowed to be dropped off at the center after 9:00 am. Parents are required to notify us by 9:00
am at the latest if your child will not be coming for the day or if you will be late in arriving, so
that teachers can organize their schedules and activities. Late Drop off will be approved only for
Doctor’s appointments with a doctor note and child must be dropped off by 10:00 AM.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy reserves the right to refuse admission to any child at any
time with or without cause.
When Withdrawing a child, a two-week written notice is required for ANY reason.
● For a Month or more off from the program a two-week written notice and the registration fee is required to hold the space for the child when returning. This needs to be taken minimum of 30 days at a time. This applies to summer breaks as well.If a registration fee is not paid to hold the space, we cannot guarantee a space when child returns.
● The obligation for full payment of tuition continues until the date indicated by the parent
or guardian as the date of withdrawal. The parent or guardian agrees to provide at least
fifteen (15) days written notice of such date of withdrawal.
● Should you leave KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy owing a balance; legal action will be taken through Small Claim Courts. The Parent will then be responsible for the balance as well as any and all court costs.
Should the center need to close for Pandemic reasons, full tuition will be due for the first two
weeks of closure. If the center is closed longer than two weeks, 50% of tuition will be due.
Parents may give a 30-day notice to withdraw from the program if they feel it is in the best interest of their family. 50% of the tuition will be due during the 30-day notice period. A full registration fee will be required to re-enroll in the program after the pandemic.

HEALTH POLICIES AND SAFETY PROCEDURES
Children who are ill should not attend preschool. KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy
observes the standards set by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services for ill children. The most common standards for exclusion are:
1. Illness that prevents the child from participating in childcare activities, including
2. The illness results in a greater need for care than caregivers can provide without
compromising the health, safety and supervision of the other children.
3. Oral temperature of 100 or armpit temperature of 99.
4. Symptoms and signs of possible severe illness such as lethargy, abnormal breathing,
uncontrollable diarrhea, 2 or more vomiting episodes in 24-hours.
5. Any Communicable-Disease.
If a child becomes ill while in our care, we will contact the parent immediately. We will
care for the child apart from the other children with proper supervision and give extra attention
to and sanitation practices.
Parents need to pick up children within 1 hour of notification. After the Duration of the allotted
1 Hour, Sick Fee of $2.00 per minute until child is picked up will apply.
In the event of severe illness or injury, or if a parent fails to pick up their child within a
reasonable amount of time, KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy may call for an ambulance at the
If a child is sent home sick from our program, they may not return until the child is
symptom-free for 24-hours.
Kids Humpty Dumpty will Notify parents of known and suspected illnesses their child may have come in contact with; this notification also includes information about the illness, symptoms, what
steps the parents must take, and other relevant information.
Immunization records must be current for all children enrolled in the Infant-Toddler,
Preschool and Pre-K programs. A copy must be in the child’s file. It is the parent’s
responsibility to ensure that your child’s immunizations are current. Failure to keep children
current on immunizations may lead to disenrollment.
From time to time KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy may have children enrolled that
have not received immunizations due to personal belief. A notarized affidavit must be on file for
Complete Immunization records MUST be on file prior to your child’s first day of enrollment.
NO Exceptions will be made.
Hearing and Vision Screenings are required for all children who will be four (4) years old
st of September of the current school year. Hearing and vision screening are required by the
Special Senses and Communication Disorder Act, Texas Health & Safety Code, Chapter 36.
For school age children, a signed statement (on enrollment form) indicating that records are on
file at your child’s school is sufficient. Parents need to provide.
Based on local health department guidelines, proof of TB testing is not required to be
enrolled in our program. All KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy Staff is tested annually and must
keep a current copy of this test in their personnel file.
Please inform your physician that your child is in care at a full-day program and that you
prefer to give medications at home, morning and evening. Knowing this, many doctors will order
longer acting medications. Limiting medications dispensed away from home prevents
medication errors. Please remember, KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy is designed for well
All prescription medicine to be given to your child while in care at KIDS Humpty
Dumpty Academy is subject to the following conditions:
1. Before any prescription medication can be administered, including sunscreen
and Bug spray, we must have permission in writing by the child’s parent or

office. A permission slip is only good for the week. One must be filled out each Monday. The form is collected on Friday from the binder and filed in your

Minimum standard rules for child care centers (chapters 746) identify the food allergy
emergency plan as an individualized plan prepared by the child’s health care professional, which
must include a list of each food the child is allergic to, possible symptoms if exposed to food on
the list and steps to take if the child has an allergic reaction.
For the safety of your child, parents are required to provide a signed copy of the
“Authorization for Emergency Care for Children with Severe Allergies” form, detailing any
allergies, food or otherwise, from which their child suffers, at the time of enrollment or when the
allergy is discovered. This form must be filled out by the child’s physician and parent(s) or legal
guardian(s), and must be updated every six months, or more frequently, as needed. In addition to
this form, parents must provide a copy of any additional physician’s orders and procedural
guidelines relating to the prevention and treatment of the child’s allergy. This form can be
obtained by request from the center director.
Parents must also execute a “Release and Waiver of Liability for Administering Emergency
Treatment to Children with Severe Allergies” form. This form releases KIDS Humpty Dumpty
Academy from liability for administering treatment to children with severe allergies and taking
other necessary actions set forth in the “Authorization for Emergency Care for Children with
Severe Allergies” form, provided KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy exercises reasonable care in
taking such actions. Any medication required to treat an allergic reaction must be provided in
accordance with the Medication Policy detailed herein.
Physical activity is important to the overall health and well-being of children. Children are
given the opportunities for physical activity throughout the school day to help meet the
recommended 60 minutes or more of daily physical activity. Physical activity breaks interspersed
throughout the day also can contribute to improved cognitive skills and enhanced concentration,
as well as improved classroom behavior. Children develop motor skills and coordination. Some
activities that would be done in the classroom and outside is walking, running, hopping,
balancing, dancing, stopping, throwing, catching, kicking this may be done with a physical

and the staff. Parents are encouraged to read this information carefully. In the event a parent is
present in the building during an emergency, KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy will ask
parents to participate accordingly.
During any emergency, the best course of action is to BREATHE AND STAY CALM, know
how many children you have, and have your sign-in and -out log and transition sheet in your
hands. If you have children of your own in the facility, but in another classroom, trust that
their teachers will take care of them just as you are taking care of the children in your care.
In all situations in this Emergency Preparedness Plan, “Director” refers to Ms. Jessica. In the
Director’s absence, the person in charge on duty assumes the role of Director and then
designates another staff member to assume the responsibilities of the Assistant Director. In all
situations in this Emergency Preparedness Plan, the Director or designated person in charge
will notify Child Care Licensing and/or the Health Department and/or call 911 as each designated person in charge may delegate any portion of his/her duties to other staff members,
volunteers or emergency personnel as he/she deems necessary.

Director, or the designated person in charge, will call 911 and/or the person’s emergency

● Contact the front office and have the child’s temperature taken. If the fever is over 100
degrees, the Director, or person in charge, will contact the parent.
● If no fever, make the child comfortable and keep an eye on him.
● If the child complains of pain, ask him to point with one finger where it hurts the most
and then investigate that spot for injury or discoloration and call the office.
● Light vomiting or mild diarrhea: If no pain, call the office after the third episode.
All staff members will vigilantly follow policies and procedures regarding diaper
changes, toileting, hand-washing, food preparation and general common-sense measures
such as keeping surfaces clean, changing bedding, teaching children how to cover coughs
and sneezes, etc., to prevent the spread of germs that cause illness in the first place.
● In the event of an outbreak, the Director, or person in charge, will notify the Health
Department and Child Care Licensing to inform them of the situation and ask for
instructions and guidelines to follow for specific illness or outbreak.
● The Director, or person in charge, will inform all staff members of instructions and
guidelines and require them to follow the same.
● The Director, or person in charge, will also notify all parents about the situation in
writing and posting it in front of the classroom effected within 48-hours as required by
the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Child Care Licensing.
● All staff is to follow the school’s confidentiality policies when speaking of the above
outbreak. Any violation of the confidentiality policy is grounds for immediate
Parents and employees will use the hygiene stations located in the front door prior to entering the rest of the building.
Upon arrival at one of our Kids Early Learning Centers, the parents or the adult dropping the child off must sign the child into care on the sign-in sheet located at the front door. A health check will be completed on both the child/children and parent /adult. If either present with a temperature above normal or signs of a possible illness, the child will be excluded from care. Children will be dropped off at the front door and escorted to class by a member of management or designated staff. Parents are encouraged to drop off at the front door but may enter the facility if necessary.
At no time is any person permitted to carry any type of Firearm, Ammunition and/or Weapon on agency property for any reason. Violation of this policy will result in immediate dismissal from the program.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy follows Department of Health and Human services

Arrival: Parents please clock your child in/out daily on the check in station. (see clock

and give any special instructions or information for that day to your child’s teacher.
● Children should be at the center by 9.00 am to participate in all the curriculum

o Children that are eating breakfast should arrive before 8:00 a.m. to avoid the cut
off-time for serving breakfast.
o All children need to be present by 9:00 a.m., at the center so attendance
o Pick-Up: Please Clock your child in/out every day at the Check in station. (see Clock

keep your CCMS benefits. And to avoid out of pocket payment for that day.
School age children: if your child will not ride the bus in the afternoon to the center
from school in the afternoon, we ask you to notify the Center office by 1:00pm to avoid our bus drivers delaying picking up of other children. Failure to notify the office on time may result in a $5.00 no call penalty.
We like to keep good communication between our parents and our staff. A scheduled parent/teacher conferences is offered to parents to exchange information a minimum of Twice a year. Children’s progress and overall development are discussed. Documentation of the conference is made dated and signed by the parent and teacher, and a copy is kept in the child’s file.

KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy believes in the benefit of using real life pictures in our educational program. Photos taken of the children will be done with a school owned camera and will only be used in our program, our Facebook page and website. If parents choose to take pictures of events held at our program, they may only photograph
their child, unless written permission is given by the other parent. Please note during certain parent events, such as Pre-K graduation, Christmas programs, and Carnivals, photographs may be taken. If you wish for your child to not be photographed, you may want to remove them from
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy provides two meals and a snack for all children present at the
center during the mealtimes provided below.
● Breakfast from 7:00am – 8:00 am
● Lunch is served at 10:00 am, 10:30am, 11:00am and 11:30 am
● Afternoon snack is served after the rest period around 2:00 pm, 2:20 and again at
2:45 pm for the school-age kids as they arrive after school.
Any food brought from home must be store bought will not be able to be taken into classrooms
and only be served during designated mealtimes while the other children are eating, and any
leftovers MUST be taken home at the end of the day.
Preschool children must have a complete change of clothing, clearly marked with the child’s name, left at KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy. Preschool children need to be dressed for the weather. Caps, mittens, and warm clothing must be worn during the cooler seasons for the
daily outdoor playtime. Accidents can happen, even for the older preschoolers, when they wait
too long before going to the bathroom, or if they get wet on the playground.
Parents must supply all bottles, diapers, wipes and diapering accessories for their child.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy provides toddler training cups. Please label everything with
your child’s first and last name. We use washable crayons, markers and paint during art time, but the children’s clothing may get stained from just being kids! Please dress your children in play clothes since children lean through play and PLAY is what we do!!
There are no animals that are housed here at KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy. Advance
notice will be given in the event of animals on school campus
If your child is absent due to illness exclusion due to the pandemic for three consecutive days,
you may request an absent credit equal to one half tuition for the days absent. Parents must request an absent credit in writing via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Absent credits are not automatically given when the child is absent.
Parents will notify Kids Early Learning Centers management anytime they have traveled outside
of the United States. Kids Early Learning Center has a right to exclude the child from care if they or a member of the household has traveled to a country that has been identified by the CDC as an “at risk” country.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy does not discriminate based on gender, race, color, religion, or national or ethnic origin in admittance, education, or other administrative policies
and extends to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to
students at the school.
The paperwork filled out upon enrollment regarding by the enrolling parent/guardian lists family members or friends who are authorized to pick children up. When friends or family come to pick up, they will be asked to present a picture ID and compare the name to the name in the child’s file. Only then will children be released to the individual picking up. Please make sure that only those people whom you are comfortable with having this privilege are on that list.
Children WILL NOT be released to adults without a picture ID or persons under the age of 18.
In cases where an enrolled child is the subject of a court order (ex… Custody Order, Restraining Order, or Protection from Abuse Order) KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy must be
provided with a Certified Copy of the most recent order and all amendments thereto. The orders of the court will be strictly followed unless the custodial parent(s) requests a more liberal variation of the order in writing. In the case where both parents are afforded shared/joint custody
by order of the court, both parents must sign the request for more liberal interpretation of the order. In the absence of a court order on file with KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy, both parents shall be afforded equal access to their child as stipulated by law. KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy cannot, without a court order, limit the access of a one parent by request of the other parent, regardless of the reason. If conflicting court orders are presented, the most recently dated court order will be followed.
Within KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy, confidential and sensitive information will only be shared with employees of KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy who have a “need to know” in order to most appropriately and safely care for your child. KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy strives to protect everyone’s right of privacy. Confidential information includes, but is not limited to:
● Names, Addresses, Phone numbers Disability information and/or other Health related information of anyone associated with KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy.
Outside of KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy, confidential and sensitive information about a child will only be shared when the parent of the child has given express written consent, except where otherwise provided for by law.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy takes the responsibility of maintaining the confidentiality of all persons very seriously. Parents must understand the implications of this responsibility. Parents need to recognize that the Confidentiality Policy not only applies to their child or family, but all children, families and employees associated with KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy. Any parent who shares any information considered to be confidential, pressures employees or other parents for information, which is not
necessary for them to know, will be considered to be in violation of the Confidentiality Policy.
Any parent who violates the Confidentiality policy will not be permitted on agency property thereafter. Refer to the policy regarding Parents Right to Immediate Access for additional information regarding dis-enrollment of a child when a parent is prohibited from accessing
Nonpayment or excessive late payment of fees.
o Failure to complete required forms including immunizations records.
o Failure to Abide by KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy’s Policies set forth in the Parent Handbook.
o Physical and/or verbal abuse of staff by parent.
o Parent threatens physical or intimidating actions towards staff members, parents or other children.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy staff members are trained to use a positive method of discipline and guidance. Staff follow Dr. Becky Bailey’s methodology called Conscious
● Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive emotional intelligence and classroom
management system that integrates all domains of learning (social, emotional, physical, cultural and cognitive) into one seamless curriculum. It evolves seeking the most current
information provided by varied disciplines from neuroscience to mindfulness research to developmental psychology and beyond.
The seven skills are Composure, Encouragement, Assertiveness, Choices, Empathy,
Positive Intent and Consequences.
● The Seven Skills of Discipline are the only skills we need to transform these everyday
discipline issues into teaching moments. These moments are our opportunity to teach
children the social-emotional and communication skills necessary to manage themselves,
resolve conflict, prevent bullying and develop pro-social behaviors.
Open Communication with parents is very important to children’s success. KIDS Humpty
Dumpty Academy. has multiple ways of communicating with parents. In some situations, parents
may be asked to sign documents acknowledging that communication has taken place. Listed
below are ways that KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy may communicate with parents:
▪ Our electronic monitor located in the front lobby
▪ Through email notifications
▪ Written memos placed in your child’s weekly folders
▪ Social media site such as Facebook
▪ Verbal communication with the child’s teachers and director
Please take the time daily to read the parent Information Board in the lobby for special memos,
and information regarding special activities.
KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy provides families with the opportunities to better
understand the child’s growth and development by providing written articles, handouts,
newsletters and can be referred to other professional and local community resources when
needed. A parent education area with parent education materials, Community Resources is
available at the front desk.
Children will never be left unsupervised nor will they be abused or neglected while in our care at KIDS Humpty Dumpty Academy. However, accidents do happen. Parents will be responsible for any medical expenses incurred should an accident requiring emergency medical treatment occur. Parents will also be responsible for any damage, beyond the normal everyday occurrence, to property or equipment. Parents also waive, release and forever discharge KIDS
Humpty Dumpty Academy from any and all claims against us.
When aware of fire or when alarm sounds, quietly say, “Fire drill boys and girls; line up
at the door, please.” This should be familiar to them since you say it every month when you practice monthly fire drills. Your primary responsibility is to get the children safely out of the building. Do not attempt to put out the fire unless it is between you and a child
or preventing exit.
